The Higher Council of Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulema (FM6OA) recommended, during its 5th ordinary session held on December 6 and 7 in Fez, the promotion and consecration of the concept of Imarat Al Mouminine (Commandery of the Faithful).
During this session, which was organized with the High approval of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, and President of the Foundation, the Council approved several recommendations that focus on the integration of African languages into the Foundation’s communication and training programs.
In the session’s final declaration, the Council called for strengthening communication, through different digital media, for the implementation of the Foundation’s programs.
The Council also approved the accession of 14 new sections to Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulema, namely Burundi, Botswana, Congo Brazzaville, the Republic of Cape Verde, Eswatini, Equatorial Guinea, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Sudan, Seychelles, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and unanimously adopted the 2022 report presented by the Foundation’s general secretariat and all the projects submitted by the permanent commissions for the year 2024.
On this occasion, which witnessed the participation of 400 members representing 48 countries, African ulemas welcomed the initiatives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, aimed at defending Islam and spreading its values of coexistence and tolerance.
In statements to Maghreb Arab Press (MAP), the president of the section of Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulema in Guinea-Bissau, Sheikh Mohamed Ware Balde, praised the Sovereign’s initiatives to defend and promote authentic religious values shared by African people, noting that the Foundation reflects African solidarity.
On a similar note, Professor of Islamic Studies at Nigeria’s Bayero University, Zahruddin Mohammed Sani, hailed the efforts of His Majesty the King, particularly in terms of the training of imams, emphasizing the importance of modern technology in sharing the values of Islam.
For his part, member of the Foundation’s Nigerian section, Ibrahim Hachim Al Hachemi, highlighted the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, “who always strives to achieve African cooperation”.
The work of the 5th ordinary session of the Higher Council of Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulema was marked by the presence of presidents and members of the Foundation’s various sections in Africa, in addition to members of the Higher Council of Ulema.
