The President of the Libyan High State Council, Muhammad Meftah Takala, highly praised the position of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, regarding the Libyan crisis.
Intervening at a joint press conference following his meeting with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita on December 7, Takala indicated that the multiple rounds of inter-Libyan dialogue which the Kingdom hosted “have laid the foundations of several institutions and put an end to the bloody conflict between Libyan brothers”.
The High State Council President, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a delegation from the High State Council, expressed his institution’s confidence in “the Kingdom’s capacity to advance the political process in Libya”.
In this regard, the Libyan official described the Kingdom’s balanced position vis-à-vis the various political partners as completely reassuring “about the possibility of achieving positive results during the negotiations held on Moroccan soil”.
The Libyan official added that the Skhirat agreement is a constitutional document, noting that the two rounds of talks held in Bouznika contributed to the building of Libya’s sovereignty.
In this, Takala stated that the (6+6) Joint Commission, which is composed of the Libyan House of Representatives and High Council of State, is an illustration of the consensus reached between the Libyan parties involved to reach electoral laws accepted by all.
