Palestine’s Ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Al Shobaki, praised, on November 29 in Rabat, Morocco’s firm position, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al Quds Committee, in support of the Palestinian people, their just cause, and their legitimate leadership, praising the Kingdom’s rightful position on the Palestinian cause.
Intervening at a meeting organized to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Ambassador Al Shobaki commended the “strong message” sent by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Chairman of the United Nations (UN) Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP), Sheikh Niang, pointing out that the Sovereign reiterated in this message the Kingdom’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
The Palestinian diplomat also recalled His Majesty the King’s speech to the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, in which the Sovereign stressed that there is no alternative to genuine peace in the region, a peace that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people based on the two-state solution.
The Palestinian diplomat noted that Morocco hosted the 1974 Arab Summit, during which Arab countries recognized for the first time the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the sole legitimate representative of Palestinians.
Al Shobki also praised the role that Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency plays in protecting Arab and Islamic rights in the Holy City, and strengthening the resilience of its inhabitants by funding programs and projects in numerous sectors.
For their part, participants in this meeting representing different civil and political bodies stated that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is an opportunity to remind the world of the imperative of resolving the Palestinian cause, subsequently guaranteeing stability and peace in the region.
The participants also emphasized the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with East Al Quds as its capital, while praising Morocco’s unwavering position, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al Quds Committee, in support of a settlement of the Palestinian cause.
The meeting was attended by several ambassadors from Arab and Islamic countries accredited to Rabat, as well as numerous senior figures from the world of politics.
