The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Mamadou Tangara, reiterated on November 20 in Rabat his country’s support for the Moroccanity of the Sahara.
During a press briefing following his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, the Gambian minister reiterated his country’s “unambiguous” position on Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.
Recalling that the Gambia was among the first countries to open a consulate general in Dakhla, the Gambian official underlined that his country has always supported Morocco in defending its territorial integrity and sovereignty over its Sahara.
The head of Gambian diplomacy also praised the “beautiful outpouring” of solidarity shown by the Moroccan people following the earthquake that struck several regions of the Kingdom.
Commending the active solidarity of Moroccans during this ordeal, the Gambian minister commended the all-out mobilization supported by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to help the populations affected and embark on the reconstruction phase.
