The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) has teamed up with Netflix, one of the world’s leading platforms in the entertainment and creative industries, to promote golf in Morocco.
According to a statement by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), this partnership, the first of its kind, aims to internationally promote the “Morocco, Land of Light” brand in the golf sector by leveraging the global leader Netflix.
The statement also added that this action is part of the Office’s strategic partnership with the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) to promote Morocco as a genuine golf destination.
This partnership features several measures, including a first collaboration through the integration of the Morocco brand in the prestigious Netflix Cup, which took place on November 14 and 15, 2023.
This is Netflix’s very first live sporting event, where Formula 1 drivers play with PGA tour golfers. Held at “The Wynn Golf Club, Las Vegas”, the sporting icons teamed up in 6-team F1 Driver/PGA Golfer duos, to determine the winning duo in the Kick Off of the season’s most anticipated event, the first ever “Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix”.
Morocco is “The Official Destination” for this major event, thus ensuring its presence in the communications put in place by the organizers, including “Morocco” and “Visit Morocco” brand placement on the golf course.
Netflix has provided the necessary resources for maximum communication and audience reach with over 247 million subscribers.
In addition to this strong partnership, ONMT has scheduled an annual communication plan on the new “Netflix Ad-Supported” offer, aimed at ensuring a continuous presence for the Morocco destination and its multiple brands.
Through this unique partnership, ONMT is implementing its innovative “Light in Action” plan, promoting Morocco as a destination with abundant opportunities to reach millions of people worldwide.
