The new representative of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Morocco, Adrien de Bassompierre, described the Kingdom as an “exceptional” gateway to the African continent.
In a statement to Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) on the sidelines of the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) in Marrakech (November 8-10), de Bassompierre affirmed that the EIB “is working with Moroccan economic stakeholders and financial institutions beyond the Kingdom’s borders, which testifies to the Kingdom’s influence across the continent, which favors investment.”
The European Investment Bank (EIB) representative praised Morocco’s role as host of the 4th edition of AIF, placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
“Morocco has demonstrated its ability to successfully organize the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, as well as this Africa Investment Forum, especially in the wake of the earthquake that hit several provinces of the Kingdom,” stated the representative, noting that this testifies to the Kingdom’s resilience and its ability to stand out.
De Bassompierre also reiterated EIB’s commitment to supporting the development of the private sector in Morocco and Africa.
According to the EIB representative, the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) is an opportunity to meet numerous Moroccan and African stakeholders and other international financial institutions.
The Africa Investment Forum (AIF) is a multi-stakeholder event focusing on concluding agreements at the continental level, through an innovative structure that projects presentations in dedicated “board rooms” and high-level sector debates. Nearly 600 high-level participants took part in this year’s event (November 8-10).
