On the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), and the Commander of the South Zone, co-chaired on October 31 in Nouakchott, the 4th meeting of the Morocco-Mauritania Joint Military Commission with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armies of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) General Staff stressed in a press release that this meeting aims to strengthen bilateral military cooperation in several fields relating to joint training and education.
During the meeting, the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) Inspector General praised the excellent cooperation between Morocco and Mauritania and its positive track record in the field of security and defense, emphasizing the importance of consolidating the exchange of expertise between the two armed forces which will thus contribute to security and stability in the region.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the two parties to jointly plan activities for 2024.
The press release concluded that military cooperation between Morocco and Mauritania is governed by a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which established the Joint Military Commission with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations in the field of defense.
