Her Highness Princess Lalla Zineb, President of the Moroccan League for Child Protection (LMPE), chaired, on November 1 in Rabat, the League’s Ordinary General Assembly, which focused on examining the moral and financial report and the auditor’s report for 2022, as part of the League’s annual meetings to assess and monitor its activities.
The Moroccan League for Child Protection (LMPE) said in a press release that HH Princess Lalla Zineb greeted the participants in the Assembly and praised the actions and projects undertaken to support disadvantaged children in different regions of the Kingdom.
Her Highness Princess Lalla Zineb also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all partners and sponsors for their constant support and contribution to the achievement of the League’s objectives, which are in line with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him, aimed at generalizing social coverage for citizens in vulnerable situations.
Following the general discussions, the members of the Assembly unanimously approved the moral and financial report, the financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2022, and the relevant resolutions.
Assembly members also took part in debates on LMPE’s role in promoting the schooling of children deprived of a family environment, the implementation of the League’s strategic program 2024-2030, and recommendations on amending the Family Code to strengthen the existing system for the protection and preservation of children’s fundamental rights.
The General Assembly witnessed the adoption of several resolutions and recommendations, namely the approval of the LMPE’s provisional draft budget for the 2023 financial year, the adoption of LMPE’s 2024-2030 strategic program, and the implementation of the 2023-2025 multi-annual action program, and the approval of the agreements entered into between the LMPE and its partners.
According to the same source, other resolutions and recommendations were adopted on the implementation of a unified information system tailored to the needs of LMPE’s structures, at both the central and regional levels, the extension of the activities of the mother-child unit at Lalla Meriem Center in Rabat to other child protection centers, and the implementation of good governance mechanisms, to unify financial and accounting management procedures at the level of LMPE’s regional offices and institutions.
