The letter of intent of Morocco’s joint bid with Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup was submitted on October 30 at the headquarters of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland.
According to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), the letter was handed over by FRMF General Secretary, Tarek Najem, to FIFA officials and the 2030 World Cup Bid Committee.
The letter of intent was signed on October 28 at Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé by the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, the President of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Fernando Gomes, and the President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Pedro Rocha.
This letter of intent is one of the major stages of the bidding process to host the 2030 World Cup.
The Presidents of the Moroccan, Spanish, and Portuguese federations of football held a meeting on October 18 in Lisbon as part of the ongoing preparations for their joint bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
According to a communiqué by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), this second meeting between the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, the President of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Fernando Gomes, and the President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Pedro Rocha, was held to discuss and proceed with preparations for this intercontinental bid, which aims to mark the history of the World Cup.
On October 4, the FIFA Council unanimously selected the Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid as the sole candidate to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
