The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held talks on October 12 in Marrakech, with several senior foreign officials.
These talks took place on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), underway until October 15, with the participation of finance ministers and central bank governors from 190 countries.
Minister Bourita held talks with the United Nations (UN) Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, US Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schultze, the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Climate Policy, Dan Jorgensen, the Swedish Minister for Finance, Elisabeth Svantesson, and the Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Liesje Schreinemacher.
During these meetings, the Moroccan minister and his interlocutors examined prospects for bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening these cooperation relations.
In a different context, the foreign officials expressed their deep condolences following the earthquake that struck several regions of the Kingdom on September 8, expressing their solidarity and support for Morocco in overcoming the outcome of this natural disaster.
The officials also praised the multidimensional approach adopted by the Moroccan authorities, under the Enlightened Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to mitigate the impact of the earthquake.
The WB-IMF Annual Meetings, which returned to African soil 50 years after they were held in Kenya, are attended by the world’s economic and financial gotha, who are examining major issues relating to financing policies, economic growth, and climate change.
