Qatar’s Ambassador to Morocco, Abdullah bin Thamer Al Thani, praised on September 20, Morocco’s efforts in managing the repercussions of the violent earthquake that struck the province of Al Haouz.
The Qatari official commended “Morocco’s efforts and the Kingdom’s good management in dealing with this natural disaster,” imploring Allah to “preserve the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco.”
The Qatari diplomat recalled that a Qatari search and rescue team was dispatched to Marrakech to assist Moroccan and foreign teams, per the Directives of the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He also expressed his thanks to the Moroccan authorities for facilitating the work of the Qatari team.
The Qatari ambassador further stated that his country’s search and rescue team had been honored by the message of thanks and gratitude they received from His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him, as well as by the appreciation expressed by the Sovereign and all Moroccans for the work carried out by the Qatari rescue team.
Ambassador bin Thamer Al Thani also expressed his deep condolences to Morocco, the King, the government, and the people, following this tragic earthquake, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
It should be recalled that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him, had sent a message of thanks and gratitude to the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, following the participation of a Qatari search and rescue team in the relief and rescue efforts in the wake of the violent earthquake that shook Al Haouz region.
In this message, His Majesty the King expressed, on His behalf and that of the Moroccan people, His sincere thanks and deep gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for the noble support given to Morocco following the earthquake of September 8.
The Sovereign also previously sent a message of gratitude to Major Khalid Abdullah Al Hamidi, Head of the Qatari International Rescue Team that took part in the search and rescue operations following the tragic earthquake that struck Al Haouz region.
