The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) has released a video in which tourism professionals affirm the smooth operation of the Moroccan tourism sector, emphasizing that a good tourism experience will be guaranteed for all tourists.
The Office affirmed in a press release that, at the initiative of ONMT, tourism professionals of the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT) and Presidents of the Regional Tourism Councils across the Kingdom “have come together to remind the global tourism industry that the Moroccan tourism sector is operating as usual, and that all the sector’s professionals are mobilized to ensure that tourists have a great experience in the Kingdom.”
The Moroccan Office underlined that the video conveys a powerful message of hope and strong values, reminding everyone that the Moroccan tourism sector is structured, aware of its responsibilities, and ready to take up any challenge to ensure that its missions are carried out to the highest standards.
According to the same source, immediately following the earthquake, the Moroccan Office put in place a series of measures to deal with this natural disaster’s repercussions on the tourism sector, as the Office has been worked jointly with the Ministry of Tourism, the National Tourism Confederation, and all Moroccan tourism professionals to monitor the number of tourists present in Morocco and current arrivals.
In this regard, the Office has also contacted all its foreign partners, including tour operators, airlines, national travel associations, and all outbound markets, to reassure them about the situation in Morocco and ensure continuity. This initiative has already begun to bear fruit, with the vast majority of partners committed to maintaining all their activities in Morocco.
The ONMT has also set up several Flash News bulletins for Moroccan operators, to keep them informed of developments in the main outbound markets.
A working session was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism in Rabat, under the chairmanship of Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, in the presence of ONMT Managing Director, Adel El Fakir, and other tourism professionals, to implement the High Royal Directives in order to support the populations affected by the earthquake and face the consequences of this natural disaster on Moroccan tourism.
“ONMT will take all necessary measures to mitigate the impact of the earthquake and restore the upturn to which the tourism sector was previously committed,” concludes the press release.
