The Angolan Minister for External Relations, Téte António, affirmed, on July 31 in Luanda, that Morocco and Angola enjoy distinguished cooperation relations, which must be strengthened in several fields.
On the sidelines of a reception organized by the Moroccan Embassy in Luanda in celebration of the 24th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne of His glorious Ancestors, António stated that “with the establishment of the Morocco-Angola Joint Commission, it has been possible to identify concrete areas of cooperation with Morocco.”
The Angolan minister added that Morocco and Angola are committed to cooperating in areas of common interest, such as insurance, transport, and the training of Angolan personnel.
Stressing that trade relations between the two countries “fall short of expectations,” the Angolan official called on economic operators and the peoples of the two countries to make greater efforts to “get to know each other better.”
For her part, Morocco’s Ambassador to Angola, Saadia El Alaoui, emphasized the importance of boosting cooperation, highlighting Morocco and Angola’s contribution to the consolidation of peace and stability in Africa.
El Alaoui also noted that Morocco’s New Development Model (NMD) focuses on constantly improving the business climate, creating competitive clusters, and building major infrastructures and industrial and logistics zones, particularly in the automotive and aeronautics sectors, as well as the exceptional development of renewable energies.
“These sectors are helping to promote the Made in Morocco brand and are increasingly promoting the country as a destination for productive investment,” explained the Moroccan ambassador.
The Moroccan diplomat emphasized that the political and institutional reforms undertaken by the Kingdom over the last three decades are the foundation of a socioeconomic dynamism favorable to political and institutional stability in a world facing multiple challenges.
