Senior Advisor to the Speaker of the Knesset, Orit Moshé, stated that Israel’s recognition of the Moroccan Sahara is the fruit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s pioneering role in promoting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Hebrew tributary.
Intervening via videoconference on the sidelines of a symposium entitled “Prospects for Moroccan-Israeli Bilateral Relations,” organized at the initiative of the Association for Moroccan-Israeli Culture and Industry (ACIMI), Moshé praised the ties uniting Morocco and Israel, shedding light on the strong ties linking Jewish Moroccans with their Motherland.
The Israeli official also emphasized that the Israeli recognition of the Moroccanity of the Sahara is the fruit of a long-term effort that derives its reference from the High Royal Directives that promote the Hebraic component as an integral part of the nation, noting that this impetus will be boosted by quality economic relations between Moroccan and Israeli businessmen.
For his part, Co-founder of the Committee for the Preservation of Demnate’s Heritage, Yehuda Dahane, stressed that Israel’s recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara is a victory added to the important dynamic set in motion, highly praising the Kingdom’s efforts to preserve the Jewish-Hebrew identity, which reflects the unwavering attachment of Jewish Moroccans to their traditions, to the Motherland, and the Glorious Alaouite Throne.
Organized by the Morocco-Israel Association for Culture and Industry (ACIMI), the symposium featured a distinguished line-up of professors specializing in geostrategy, economics, and international relations, and was an opportunity to discuss several ideas and mechanisms likely to help strengthen and enrich bilateral relations between Morocco and Israel in light of Israel’s recognition of the Moroccanity of the Sahara.
