The Palestinian quarterly magazine “Al-Maqdisiyah” highlighted, in its latest issue, the actions of Bayt Mal al-Quds Agency and the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Morocco in supporting the inhabitants and institutions of the Holy City.
The magazine, published by al-Quds Studies Center at Al-Quds University, dedicated a considerable part of its 19th issue (summer 2023) to the Silver Jubilee of Bayt Mal al-Quds Asharif Agency, its programs, and the prospects for its action and scientific publications centered on the Holy City.
This new issue also focused on the first Free Days Forum organized by the Agency in March under the theme “Social and Economic Sectors in al-Quds: the Challenges of Reality and Conditions for Development.”
Quoted in this issue, Bayt Mal al-Quds Agency’s Managing Director, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to supporting the inhabitants and institutions of al-Quds, noting that the Agency is a testament to Morocco’s determination to preserve and develop the Holy City.
Under the direct supervision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Agency has become a benchmark for action in al-Quds, thanks to its vast expertise and the solid mechanisms implemented to ensure that donations are properly directed to the projects concerned.
Cherkaoui recalled that over the past 25 years, the Agency has carried out over 200 major projects and dozens of small and medium-sized projects, with a budget of over 64 million dollars, stressing that these projects have been carried out under the characteristics of the Holy City.
Drawing on the conclusions of the first Free Days Forum, the magazine shed light on the Agency’s central, forward-looking role, thanks to its realistic approach, and wished that the Silver Jubilee would provide fresh impetus for the institution’s work.
“Al-Maqdisiyah” noted that the achievements of the Agency and other Palestinian and international institutions in the city of al-Quds are a testament to their social and humanitarian roles, underlining that these achievements are not sufficient to protect the Holy City and preserve its Arab-Muslim civilizational identity.
