The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Morocco-Spain Economic Council (CEMAES) will hold, on May 22 in Madrid, a business meeting under the theme “Investing in Morocco for a common prosperity,” aimed at promoting investment opportunities in Morocco.
The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) reported that the meeting, which is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies and the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), also aims to bridge Moroccan and Spanish companies to accelerate their expansion into new markets, particularly in Africa and Latin America.
The meeting will see the participation of over 150 Spanish companies from different sectors, such as agribusiness, circular economy, renewable energies, water management, waste processing, textile, and tourism.
The companies will be able to hold B2B meetings with potential partners and the staff of AMDIE to learn about available opportunities, especially in light of the ongoing deployment of Morocco’s new Investment Charter, which provides exceptional incentives (financial and non-financial) to domestic and foreign investors and seeks the investment of MAD 550 billion and the creation of 500.000 jobs.
On this occasion, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Chakib Alj, stated that “this economic mission is part of the ongoing actions to strengthen economic and trade relations following the Morocco-Spain Economic Forum held in February in Rabat.”
“Considering the economic complementarities of the two Kingdoms, their proximity, and their strong cooperation ties, the companies of our two countries must get closer and benefit from the ongoing reconfiguration of value chains to better position, at the continental, regional and global levels, their expertise in key sectors such as industry and sustainability,” stated Alj.
For his part, President of the Morocco-Spain Economic Council (CEMAES), Adil Rais, emphasized that Moroccan and Spanish companies will benefit from this cooperation, through co-investment and utilization of the assets of their respective countries.
“The proximity between Moroccan and Spanish companies can only reflect the excellent and long-standing ties uniting our two countries,” added Rais.
