The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, urged Sunday in Cairo, the international community to intensify efforts to support peace and stability in Sudan, to preserve the country’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, and avoid any security disruption in the region.
Intervening at the emergency meeting of the Council of the Arab League (AL) at the level of foreign ministers, Bourita stressed that Morocco is deeply concerned about Sudan’s security situation and the resulting destruction of property, infrastructure, and life.
Bourita stated that Morocco, under the Enlightened Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, expresses its absolute solidarity with Sudan during these difficult circumstances and is ready to provide all necessary support to help the country overcome the crisis, recalling that the Kingdom, which has established solid fraternal relations with Sudan, is convinced that the wisdom and transparency of the Sudanese people will help them reach a compromise that will pave the way for a political solution that will enable them to maintain security and stability to meet their development needs.
In a similar context, Bourita expressed Morocco’s support for the initiatives and measures taken by the Arab League (AL), welcoming the efforts undertaken by other countries and international organizations to bring the parties involved together and encourage them to resolve the conflict through constructive dialogue.
Bourita further stressed the need to ensure that the solution to the ongoing crisis in this country is Sudanese and does not submit to any external interference to achieve a peaceful and sustainable settlement in an atmosphere of serenity and national pride.
