His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may Allah assist him, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and His Highness Prince Moulay Ismail, chaired, Thursday at the Royal Palace in Casablanca, the third religious lecture of Ramadan.
This lecture was delivered by the president of the Local Council of Ulemas of the prefecture of El Fida-Mers Sultan districts, Mohamed Mouchane, under the theme “The virtue to hold into the solid Rope of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet”, inspired by al-Hadith al-Sharif reported by Imam Malik and in which the Prophet Mohammed, Peace Be Upon Him, said: “I have left you with two matters which will never lead you astray, as long as you hold to them: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of his Prophet.”
Lecturer Mouchane emphasized how this Hadith bears the imprint of the power of synthesis unique to the words of the Prophet, peace be upon him, stressing that the Hadith urges followers to hold into the Quran and the Sunnah and calls for conforming to their ways.
Mouchane stressed, in this regard, that the Hadith clearly indicates that protection and salvation are the lot of the one who clings firmly to the Quran and the Sunnah as they are preserved and their truth is established until the Day of Judgment.
The Lecturer explained that the Holy Quran and the Prophet’s Sunnah are the solid rope of Allah and the path of Salvation, noting that Allah preserves the Holy Quran when the Almighty said in Surah Al-Hijr, Aya 9: “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.”
The Lecturer noted that The Almighty has preserved the Quran from any false addition or omission and has protected it from any distortion, change, or falsification, noting that Allah promised His Prophet to keep it safe from falsifiers and those blinded by hatred.
Mouchane also explained the importance of both the Holy Quran and the Prophet’s Sunnah as two of the foundations of the Islamic religion, noting the link between the Quran and the Sunnah is that the latter interprets the Quran’s general rules, elucidates its general concepts, specifies what the Quran has not detailed and delimits the precepts that have been dealt with in an absolute manner.
The speaker further recalled His Majesty the King’s efforts in the service of the Hadith of His Grandfather, the Master of all Messengers, praising the achievements made under the blessed era of the Sovereign in promoting religious discourse in the service of Islam and the Sunnah of His Grandfather, the Prophet, peace be upon him.
In addition, Mouchane recalled the lectures chaired by the Commander of the Faithful, which provide an ideal opportunity to study al-Hadith and celebrate the Sunnah.
Mouchane further added that the third manifestation of Amir Al Mouminine’s efforts to promote al-Hadith Asharif is represented by the Sovereign’s High Directives for the preparation of “Muwatta Malik”, a collection of authentic hadiths elaborated by the great scholar Imam Malik, noting that scholars unanimously affirmed that this copy, which was supervised by a scientific commission of Morocco’s Supreme Council of Ulemas, is the best and most accurate of this work to date.
The lecturer pointed out that this collection was translated into English at Al Akhawayn University under the supervision of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, stressing that this it is the version adopted by the Sharia study program at Harvard University in recognition of its quality and importance as the first collection of hadith.
Mouchane further recalled that His Majesty the King’s efforts to promote al-Hadith Asharif also include “Addourous Alhadithia” in their graphic and interactive aspects that His Majesty ordered to establish. “Addourous Althadithia” is broadcasted on Assadissa TV channel as well as on Radio Mohammed VI of the Holy Quran.
The president of the Local Council of Ulemas of the prefecture of El Fida-Mers Sultan districts also highlighted the contribution of Mohammed VI “Ahl al-Hadith” Prize in promoting and preserving the Hadith while honoring the readers of the Hadith, noting that this award is dedicated to prominent scientific personalities, who made a difference in the Kingdom through their contributions to promote, defend and clarify the Hadith in a way that reveals the splendor and aesthetics of Islam, and who are awarded this glorious prize by the Sovereign.
Lecturer Mouchane also mentioned Mohammed VI platform of Hadith established upon the order of His Majesty the King in the service of the Prophet’s Hadith, underlining that this platform is a noble action among others of the Commander of the Faithful and crowns all previous aspects of individual and renewed care.
Following this lecture, His Majesty the King was greeted by Grand Mufti of Al Quds and Palestine, Sheikh Muhammad Ahmed Hussein, Professor at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, Hassan bin Mohamed Safar, Professor of Hadith at Al al-Bayt University in Jordan, Muhammad Mukhtar Al-Mufti, President of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), al-Hajj Hassan Ole Naado, and member of the Supreme Council of Religious Affairs in Turkey, Benjamin Erol.
His Majesty the King was also greeted by university professor and director of the India Islamic Cultural Center in New Delhi, Dikr Arrahmane, director of the Moscow Institute of Islamic Civilization, Said Hibatullah Kamilev, advisor to the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Oman, Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Awdi, president of the Section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in Niger, Idrissa Maiga Abdallah, and member of the Section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema in Burkina Faso, Sidi Mohamed Maiga.
