Morocco was crowned champion of the 1st edition of the Africa Surfing Games, which took place between March 1 and 5 in Taghazout.
Moroccan surfers snatched first place in both the male and female categories of this competition, organized by the Royal Moroccan Surfing Federation and the African Surfing Confederation.
Tifa Bouchka secured first place in the senior Surf Open category, followed by the Senegalese Charif Fall, and the Moroccan Chadi Lahroui. In the under-18 male category, Mehdi Tsouli claimed first place, followed by the Senegalese Sirgine Falo Bosso. In the women’s category, the Moroccan Lilias Tebbaa came first, ahead of her compatriot Ines Tebbaa and the Mauritanian Nelly Logige.
This competition aims to promote surfing visibility in Africa and the development of this sport in several African countries. In addition to Morocco, the sporting event was marked by the participation of surfers from Senegal, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar, Mauritius, Burkina Faso, and the Republic of Congo.
