The African Development Bank Group and the Moroccan Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills are organizing a regional conference on the theme: “The future of employment and the role of Entrepreneurship and VSMEs” in North Africa, on June 7 and 8, in Rabat, Morocco. The conference is organized through the new regional platform “eina4jobs” (Entrepreneurship, Innovations and Advice for Jobs), funded by Danish cooperation.
The conference, in which several experts and ministers from Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia will participate, aims to analyze the structural changes in the labor market in North Africa, accelerated in recent times by the digital revolution and the Covid-19 pandemic. 19.
The meeting will serve as a high-level dialogue between policymakers, the private sector and technical and financial partners on solutions, in the form of operational innovations, likely to support job creation through entrepreneurship and very small and medium-sized enterprises.
According to the eina4jobs platform, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia would be able to create more than 8 million jobs by 2030 in order to absorb the young people entering the labor market and reduce the unemployment rate. .
The conference will lead to the signing of a “Political Manifesto” to define the contours of public policies that will enable the three countries to create a sufficient number of decent jobs in the years to come.
The preparation of this conference and of the “Political Manifesto” was carried out in concert with the various development partners: the German International Cooperation Agency for Development, the French Development Agency, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and development and the International Labor Organization. Their contribution demonstrates the strong shared desire to act on entrepreneurship and employment issues.
