The Committee in charge of the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline project held, on October 24 in Marrakech, a high-level meeting on the sidelines of the 3rd Moroccan Oil & Gas Summit (October 24-26).
According to a statement by the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), the meeting was attended by representatives of all the countries crossed by the Nigeria-Morocco Pipeline, as well as the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Energy, and Digitization, Sediko Douka, and the Director of Energy and Mines at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Bayaornibe Dabire.
The National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines also affirmed that per two memorandums of understanding (MoU) signed between the national oil companies, the meeting focused on monitoring the progress of the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline project and the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Survey studies.
The same source concluded that during this meeting, participants reiterated their commitment and determination to ensure the success of the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Project.
Organized by ONHYM in partnership with “IN-VR”, the 3rd edition of the Moroccan Oil & Gas Summit is an opportunity to discuss the challenges relating to oil and gas exploration in Morocco and the available geological potential while focusing on energy issues in the African continent.
The summit brought together approximately 180 participants representing international oil companies, national energy companies, and national companies responsible for hydrocarbons in the African countries that will be crossed by the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project, as well as service companies, lawyers, executives from the banking sector, and experts and executives from different countries.
