The Moroccan women’s national football selection qualified for the 3rd round of the African qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games, after defeating its Namibian counterpart (2-0) in the second leg of the second match, on the evening of October 31 at His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.
The Moroccan selection’s goals were scored by Imane Saoud (76’) and Ghizlane Chebbak (89’, p.). In the first leg, which took place on October 26 in Marrakech, the Moroccan selection beat Namibia by the same score (2-0).
The matches of the third round of the African qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games will be played between February 19 and 28, 2024.
It should be recalled that five African countries have taken part in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament since it was first held in Atlanta in 1996, namely Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Africa’s two representatives at the Paris 2024 event will be determined following the 4th and final round (April 1-9).
