The 11th edition of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan International Cycling Challenge, placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, will kick off on May 26 at the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation (FRMC).
This large-scale competition will see the participation of riders representing Europe, Africa, and Asia, in addition to continental teams from France, Great Britain, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Senegal, Algeria, Iraq, Egypt, and Morocco.
During this edition, three selections will represent Morocco, namely the national team A, Espoirs and the under 23 Moroccan selection, and the Moroccan Sahara selection.
This international challenge will also be marked by the participation of Sidi Ali-Unlock continental team, which includes cyclists of different nationalities.
Riders participating in this year’s edition will compete for three prizes during three stages of the competition.
The first stage, the “Grand Prix His Majesty King Mohammed VI,” will be held on May 28 and will link Fez and Taza (120.5 km), while the second stage, to take place on May 27 as part of the “Grand Prix HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan,” will be raced between El Hajeb and Fez, through Ifrane and Sefrou (115 km).
The third and final stage, scheduled for May 28 between Sefrou and Meknes, through Imouzzer Kandar, Ifrane, El Hajeb, and Boufekrane (122.7 km), will reward the winners the “Grand Prix of the Royal Family.”
According to the organizers, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan International Cycling Challenge aims to promote Morocco’s tourism assets and cultural wealth, especially since it confirmed, over the years, that the Kingdom is a true haven for peace and a land of hospitality, dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence.
